WE ARE WOLVES - "COCONUT NIGHT"
This is the second video from We Are Wolves to be featured on Video Militia, both from Director Jérémie Saindon. It's sort of a tale of three runway models who after a long night of a designer-drug binge*, wake up in a post apocalyptic, Lord of the Flies world, somewhere on the dark side of the moon. Very nice to watch with some great art direction from Simon Rouillard and stylling from Renata Morales.

A very noir video from director Teemu Nikki about a girl traveling alone in Europe who is swept-up by a human trafficking ring. Might just give you nightmares. Next time you're in Europe girls, be careful of those "waitress needed" signs in the window of nefarious Russian restaurants.

Premiering November 21, 2008 on MTV2's Subterranean is another great video from Seattle-based Director Matt Daniels. Shot in the rugged landscape of eastern Washington state, this video hearkens back to a pioneering tradition and the certain death sentence faced by a bedridden illness. Stylistically the video is reminiscent of the work of legendary Director of Photography Roger Deakins, particularly his recent films "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" and "No Country for Old Men." Credit to DP Mike Ragen for realizing the promise of film-like quality with the Red Camera. It's great indie work like this that has us excited for the coming Red Scarlet.

| | In a good sort of way this video from Director Finsta/Andreas Öhman reminds me of the internet sensation Justice vs. Simian video. It's sort of a blend between that video and a good game of Mousetrap. Hours of fun and safe for all ages.

| | No time for explanations, check this video out! Well executed effects and photography from Director Tobias Martinsson. Shot on Sony EX1 with Letus Extreme Adapter and a Nikon D90. We've been noticing that people are getting some great looks with the Letus gear! Tobias, we'll have our people call your people.

Fashion designer and collage artist Jess Holzworth, with the help of Eight VFX and actress Chloe Sevigny, brings her collages to life for Beck's "Gamma Ray." For an artist that has aspired to be "Keith Richards minus the drugs," Jess certainly has created an informed psychedelic voyage through the American desert landscape, complete with sixties bikers & circus performers on a spiritual journey. Jess managed to create a video that lies somewhere between dream-quest and acid freak-out, which seems appropriately Beck.

ARE YOU READY TO MAKE HISTORY? Here's a video from an editor friend of ours, Lenny Mesina (Beautiful Losers), who put on a very successful Obama event a few weeks ago at Fresh Pressed in LA. He raised more than $6,000 in the combined bake sale and live silkscreenings. Check out the promo video of Shepard Fairey hanging an Obama mural at the Fresh Pressed location... and don't forget to GO VOTE on NOV 4th (tomorrow!):
Barack Obama's "Yes We Can" speech remixed and re-visualized using Z-Trip's mix, Shepard Fairey's "Hope" pasting at Fresh Pressed Los Angeles, and Lenny Mesina's editing. (Be sure to stay through the end credits for a special message!)

The new hip-hop video for Paris "Don't Stop the Movement" is a refreshing assault on the coalescence of media and Big Brother government. Additionally, Paris and Director Buildestroy/Cory Shaw of Bucks Boys take the mainstream rap music industry to task for sowing the seeds of bondage; their culpability is displayed through a Flavor Flav character that is a parody of his former "Fight the Power" persona. The video gets at the root of the adage, "Rap is something you do, but hip hop is a way of life."
