GRIZZLY BEAR - "TWO WEEKS" (FAN) MUSIC VIDEO - DIR. GABE ASKEW

Here's a great fan video for Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks" cleverly disguised as a lowbrow stop-motion video.  But in fact it's CG.  Director Gabe Askew spent four months putting it together in his free-time.  Every scene was carefully planned and storyboarded.  Hopefully it will inspire you to make something on your own!

FOLDED LIGHT - "TRAIN TRACKS AT DAWN" MUSIC VIDEO - DIR. JON WATTS

"Train Tracks at Dawn" is the new video for Folded Light from Director Jon Watts of Waverly Films (also represented by Smuggler)Steve Damstra and Jaffe Zinn of Folded Light play two young men on an epic journey through an isolated landscape of urban decay.  Their travels ultimately culminate in a final test of their friendship, and of life or death itself.  Of course we are only kidding... sorta.

Folded Light came about after Zinn and Damstra met while Damstra was in LA for a video shoot with his other band, Whirlwind Heat. They discovered they had similar tastes in music and collaborated via the Internet before Damstra moved to LA in late ’07 to begin recording the first Folded Light album.  The two recently finished a follow-up album, "Kelly," which will be released this year.  Moving forward they plan "to embark on a worldwide tour of people’s imaginations beginning now."

The video was produced by Jenna Felling, shot on Red Camera by DP Andrew Shulkind, editing and some effects by Keith Hamm, with additional effects by Brickyard VFX's Chris Sonia.

This is probably the first and only showreel we are ever going to feature on Video Militia.  Have a look and you'll see why we think it's completely genius.

MORE AT ROBOT-VOICE.COM

From an undisclosed, government research facility comes the disturbing, leaked rantings of an AI computer. With such monologues as "My Brother Had A Prostitute Named Sandy Over" and "Life is Full of Stress" you must wonder how a computer came to be so distressed.

GEDDA HEADZ - "SPACED OUT" MUSIC VIDEO - DIR. JEAN-JULIEN POUS

Hong Kong has served as inspiration to many artists and music videomakers are no exception.  Dir. Jean-Julien Pous combines the rich street texture of Hong Kong with strangely surreal anime characters, stunts, and mannequins to hint at some weird present-future.  There's moments of Blade Runner, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Speed Racer, and some anime references too nuanced for this non-anime eye.

AUTO-TUNE THE NEWS #6: MICHAEL JACKSON. DRUGS. PALIN.

Fast on it's way to viral status here is a video from the Brothers Gegory. They use their auto-tune software we're so familiar hearing in our favorite Kanye and Cher songs to make music out of congressional bicker-matches and other news of the day. Hillarious.
